Compass Health Center offers Mood & Anxiety Programs to support ages 5 through adulthood. This month, we are highlighting our Young Adult and Adult Programming, available across all our in-person treatment facilities in Chicago, Northbrook, and Oak Brook, and through Compass Virtual.

Program Overview

Compass Health Center’s Mood & Anxiety Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs for young adults (ages 18-23) and adults (24+) provide short-term, comprehensive, successful treatment for those whose mood and anxiety symptoms significantly impair daily functioning.

Evidence-based therapies used to help patients develop more effective coping skills include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Group therapy is the primary modality of treatment, providing patients with opportunities to normalize their experience, gain feedback from peers, and practice effective coping skills together.

“Compass provides a multi-layered approach that relies on a team of qualified clinicians, psychiatrists, and nurse practitioners to ensure that not only the patient is receiving appropriate treatment, but the family is getting the support they need as well,” Kerry Lusignan, LCSW, Chief Clinical Officer, Compass Health Center – Oak Brook, said.

Compass focuses on teaching the skills to decrease symptoms and increase functioning for individuals who are experiencing distress and inability to function at a level they are used to at home, work, or school.
